Know Your Customer & Anti-Money Laundering Policy

Karibu eSIM is committed to operating a safe, transparent, and legally compliant platform. Our KYC and AML procedures protect our users, our partners, and the integrity of our service from fraud and financial crime.
1. Purpose
This policy outlines how Karibu eSIM identifies users, manages risk, and complies with applicable anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing regulations. It applies to all users who access features requiring identity verification, including payout requests and high-value or high-risk transactions.
2. When KYC verification is required
We may require identity verification in the following circumstances:
- You request a payout of referral commissions or wallet credits to an external account
- Your account shows transaction volumes or patterns that trigger our risk monitoring systems
- You access features that are restricted under applicable regulations to verified users only
- We are required to verify your identity by a payment processor, network partner, or legal authority
- Our compliance team flags your account during a routine or triggered review
For standard plan purchases, KYC is not required. Most users will never need to complete verification.
3. What we may request
Depending on the situation, we may ask for one or more of the following:
- Government-issued photo ID โ national ID card, passport, or driving licence
- Selfie verification โ a live or recent photo of you holding your ID document
- Proof of address โ a utility bill, bank statement, or official letter dated within the last 90 days
- Source of funds โ where large or unusual transaction volumes are involved
- Additional documentation โ where required by law or our compliance team
All documents submitted for KYC are handled securely and in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We do not share KYC documents with third parties except where required by law or to fulfil the verification process through approved providers.
4. Verification outcomes

5. Anti-Money Laundering commitment
Karibu eSIM does not knowingly facilitate or tolerate:
- The use of our platform to launder funds from illegal sources
- Transactions that appear designed to structure, conceal, or disguise the origin of funds
- Use of our wallet or referral systems to transfer value derived from criminal activity
- Any transaction involving individuals or entities on applicable sanctions lists
Where suspicious activity is identified, we are obligated to report it to the relevant authorities and may freeze or close the account involved without prior notice.
6. Data retention
KYC documents and verification records are retained for the period required by applicable law โ typically a minimum of 5 years from the date of verification or the end of the business relationship, whichever is later.
